Roofing membranes are large rolls of material which are used to add an extra protective layer on the roof to safeguard your building. It also offers insulation, moves water off the roof and inhibits water from entering the property.

Why use breathable roofing membrane?

Breathable roofing membrane allows moisture to move between the layers in the form of water vapours. The breathable roof membrane is water-resistant, snow resistant, and dust resistant but allows air movement through the membrane which reduces the risk of condensation as the water vapours can leave the roof space.

You would usually use these membrane sheets externally for walls or roof structure in which the external wall or roof cladding may or may not be airtight. Membranes are installed on the cold side of the insulation.
